A delegation form University of Nairobi comprising of, Vice Chancellor Prof. G. Magoha, Director IDS- Prof W. Mitullah, CIPL Director Prof. W.Ogara and IDS Coordinator Dr. Wanjala travelled bbetween 11th -15th March to  Bonn- Rhein -Sieg University of applied science for a preparatory measures mission aiming at a joint application to the DAAD in the framework of a South- South- North  accademic cooperation.

The University provides outpatient medical services for all students and staff at the University Health Services facility. Patients may be referred to specialist doctors or other medical facilities as appropriate. Foreign students are advised to purchase medical insurance on arrival because the medical fees payable during student registration does not cater for hospital admission or inpatient.

The University of Nairobi provides limited accommodation for foreign students.  The available rooms are allocated on first come, first served basis.  However, the following privately owned hostel facilities around the university are recommended for students who may not get accommodation within the University.

Joint Research


The Centre for International Programmes and Links (CIPL) was established in 2002 through statute XVII to a fully fledged centre. CIPL is now in the division of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Production and Extension (RPE).

The University of Yaounde 1 on behalf of the Consortium Universities is pleased to inform you that the new AFIMEGQ project funded by European Commission’s Easmus Mundus Programme has been launched and that the call for applications is open until 31st March, 2013.  University of Nairobi is a member of this Consortium and UoN students and staff are encouraged to apply for the right scholarship mobility.
