The University of Nairobi has formally established a strategic partnership with Huaqiao University (HQU) following a high-level signing ceremony expected to significantly enhance academic exchange and digital transformation between Kenya and China.

Representing the Vice Chancellor, Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Leonida Kerubo received a six-member delegation from HQU led by He Chunzheng, marking an important step in the university’s efforts to strengthen its global presence.

In a moving blend of remembrance and hope for the future, the University of Nairobi’s Taifa Hall was transformed into more than just a venue it became a space where history, emotion, and purpose met. The symposium, themed “From Ashes to Ambition: Rwanda’s Journey of Renewal and the Quest for a United Africa,” invited those in attendance to reflect deeply while also looking ahead.

A formal meeting was convened on Monday, 13th April 2026, bringing together representatives from Wuhan Polytechnic University and University of Nairobi to officially sign a collaborative agreement establishing a strategic partnership between the two institutions. The event marked the culmination of a series of prior engagements and consultations aimed at enhancing academic cooperation and advancing international engagement.
